Graphic Guidelines

Distributor’s Purchase Order number MUST appear in the email subject line exactly as it appears on the faxed Purchase Order.
This is to ensure that your art will be correctly matched up with your PO. Art sent without a PO may not be considered received.
Faxed PO must include a copy of emailed art for reference only.
FILE FORMATS: We accept PC files (we cannot accept MAC files) created with or editable by Adobe Illustrator CS3 or below.
ALL ART must be created as (or converted to) VECTOR.
ACCEPTABLE FILE TYPES: .AI, .EPS or .PDF (VECTOR).
UNACCEPTABLE FILE TYPES: .PSD, .TIF, .JPG, .BMP, .GIF,
Microsoft Word files, or internet files. Convert all text to outlines, paths, or curves to ensure exact duplication of a typestyle.
All colors must be set up in PANTONE SOLID UNCOATED
SPOT COLORS.
TYPESETTING: Our standard art set-up charge includes typesetting 3-4 lines of copy, if applicable. If a specific font is required,
the name of the font(s) must be noted on your Purchase Order. If font is not available, a standard font or a font that is similar will be used.
HALFTONES/SCREENS: Additional charge of $20(T) per color will be incurred. Screens below 20% are not acceptable.
BLEED: A full bleed is only possible on orders of 25,000+ that will be printed on a web press. For smaller orders or those printed on an
offset press we can bleed the two sides and the top of the bag. There is an additional fee of $20(T) per color.
PLATE CHANGES: $7.50(T) per color, plus plate fee. Order must be two (2) or more colors. One common plate must
remain on the press
for entire run. Must have a minimum of 100 per imprint change. All other minimums apply.
DESIGN CHARGES: There is no charge for opening your electronic file, and we will spend up to ? hour of computer time at no charge.
Additional time will be billed at $50.00(T) per
hour (billed in 15 minute increments). Design charges must
be authorized before work has begun.
REGISTRATION: 1/8" space between colors is suggested. All
efforts will be made to maintain close registration. However,
deviation can
and will occur in the printing process. Art with
tighter registration will be subject to printer approval.
COLOR VARIATIONS: Every effort will be made to match colors
as closely as possible. Due to the nature of manufacturing
and production, slight variations in finished products are
possible. Preston Farms cannot guarantee exact color matches
from order to order.
IMPRINT AREA: Preston Farms reserves the right to make
slight alterations to camera ready art to fit all imprint areas.
Unless otherwise stated, Preston Farms will use maximum
imprint area. Any layout designs or changes required of
Preston Farms may be subject to additional charges.
If
no layout is submitted, Preston Farms will use its own discretion.
The imprint areas are listed as approximate areas.
PROOFS: Proofs are supplied on ALL orders, including
reorders. All proofs must be signed with customer’s signature,
dated and faxed or e-mailed back to factory before we
can process the order.
NO ORDER WILL BE PROCESSED UNTIL A SIGNED ART APPROVAL IS RECEIVED.
THE CUSTOMER
IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL ERRORS THAT
MAY HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKED ON PROOF.
Preston Farms
accepts no responsibility for any cost after proof approval. All
costs incurred will be billed to customer.
MICROWAVE BAG PROOF FORMATS:
Proofs are provided
free of charge in one of the following formats:
- Fax Proof (Black and white hard copy) - Color separations will be included if artwork is more than one color.
- E-mail Proof (color .PDF) - Colors/image resolutions of e-mail
proofs do not represent final output.
Please specify on PO which format you prefer or a fax proof will be sent.
PRE-PRODUCTION PROOF (Actual bag from printer) - Press
proof will delay production a minimum of one (1) week.
Additional charge of $103.35(T) per color - invoiced separately.
Available only for orders printed on an offset press.
STANDARD IMPRINT COLORS: (SPOT COLOR)
- Pantone Yellow, Yellow 109, Orange 021, Warm Red, Red
032, Red 185, Rubine Red, Pantone Purple, Pantone Violet,
Blue 072, Reflex Blue, Pantone Blue, Pantone Green, Green 347, Brown 464, and Black. (Pantone Solid Uncoated Ink).
Any other color selection will have a PMS color matching charge applied per color, per order, $40(T). Metallic and fluorescent
colors cannot be used.
Terms and Conditions
IN-BETWEEN QUANTITY PRICING: In-between quantities will be billed at the preceding quantity price.
PRODUCTION/DELIVERY: Schedules are approximate unless guaranteed in writing by Preston Farms. Microwave bag orders of 10,000 or less will be shipped within 10-15 working days after receipt of final art approval and approved credit.
DEPOSITS: Orders totaling $2,500 or more require a 25% deposit plus plate charges if applicable. Deposit must accompany purchase order with approved credit.
DROP SHIPMENTS: Orders shipped to more than one location will be charged $1.79(T) plus freight for each additional location. Locations must be supplied on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
CANCELLATION: Customer will be billed for all work up to the time of cancellation plus $70(T) cancellation fee.
EXW: Factory, Loading Dock, Palmyra, IN 47164. Shipping and handling charges will be added to invoice. No C.O.D. shipments.
FREIGHT TERMS: We will ship on our UPS number when shipping ground only; this shipping and handling charge will be added to your invoice. If expedited shipping is requested or required you must supply an account number for the shipment.
RETURNS: No merchandise may be returned without a factory return authorization number. All boxes must be marked with return authorization number(s). Request for return or replacement must be made in writing within 10 days of receipt of product.
FOREIGN SHIPMENTS: All foreign shipments are plus freight and document costs, inspections or any other requirements.
UNDELIVERABLE PACKAGES: Customer will be billed for each returned package(s) due to incorrect shipping information.
DELIVERY LIABILITY: Title of goods passes to the customer at the time the merchandise is assigned to the carrier. All goods must be inspected upon arrival. If shipment is delayed, damaged or lost by carrier, customer must file all claims with the shipping carrier. Preston Farms assumes no responsibility for merchandise once it is given to carrier. Cost to replace lost or damaged goods will be paid by custome in addition to the cost for initial order.
DISCLAIMER POLICY: The factory cannot guarantee continuity of exact shade, color, size, weight, or construction of finished goods.
NON-FULFILLMENT OF ORDERS: Factory cannot assume liability for non-fulfillment of orders caused by our inability to obtain materials, or embargoes, strikes, fires or any other causes beyond our control.
TRADEMARK USAGE: Trademarks, slogans, logos or other registered marks shown in catalog DO NOT signify endorsements by their owners and are not for sale.
RIGHTS TO PROMOTION: We reserve the rights to use all products we produce in our advertising unless otherwise notified in writing at the time of order.
INDEMNIFICATION: Customer shall indemnify and hold Preston Farms harmless from any and all loss, cost, damage and expense, including without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees, on account of any and all claims, demands, actions and liability for patent or copyright infringements, proprietary rights violations, claims of libel, slander, or obscenity, invasion of privacy or other personal rights violations. Any and all artwork containing copyrighted material, trademarks or other registered marks supplied to Preston Farms for reproduction shall be deemed to have proper authorization to be reproduced.
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE: A Certificate of Insurance for Preston Farms will be faxed upon request at no charge. If additional documentation is requested/required a fee will incur per insurance assessment.
TERMS: If you have not established an open account with Preston Farms, please send a 50% deposit with your order. In order to establish terms, credit references for three (3) supplier companies and banking information are required.
VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER accepted.
CONTRACTUAL PRECEDENCE: Terms and Conditions as printed on our standard quotation and order acknowledgement forms and this catalog will take precedence over Terms and Conditions on the customer’s purchase order or other written correspondence. Preston Farms reserves the right to change any of the above terms, conditions and prices at any time without prior notice
